Let’s take a look at these common processing materials:
When the carbon steel fiber laser cutting machine uses oxygen as the processing gas, the cutting edge will be slightly oxidized. When the thickness reaches 4, the mm plate can be high-pressure cut using nitrogen gas as the processing gas. In this case, the cutting edge will not be oxidized. The laser of the steel plate laser cutting machine adopts a special electrode plate, which has a good effect on coating the surface of the workpiece during the processing.
2. Copper and brass have high reflectivity and good thermal conductivity. Brass below 5mm can be cut with nitrogen gas; Copper with a thickness of less than 2mm can be cut, and oxygen must be used for processing gas. Copper and brass can only be cut when a reflective absorption device is installed on the system. Otherwise, reflection will damage the optical components.
3. Stainless steel is the most commonly used in various industries. When cutting stainless steel, the fiber laser cutting machine uses nitrogen to obtain edges that are free of oxidation and burrs. Applying an oil film on the surface of the board will not reduce the processing quality and achieve better perforation results.
4. For fiber laser cutting machines, aluminum has high reflectivity and thermal conductivity. Aluminum with a thickness of less than 6mm can be cut, depending on the alloy type and laser capability. When cutting with oxygen, the cutting surface is rough and hard. When using nitrogen, the cutting surface is smooth. Pure aluminum is difficult to cut due to its high purity. Aluminum can only be cut when a reflective absorption device is installed on the fiber laser cutting machine system. Otherwise, reflection will damage the optical components.
5. Titanium and titanium plates are cut using argon and nitrogen as processing gases. Other parameters can refer to nickel chromium steel.
The materials that can be processed by fiber laser cutting machines cover most of the metal, and the problems that exist during the cutting process are also different. Analysis should be based on the actual cutting situation.
