One is the gantry structure machine tool, which generally uses steel or aluminum alloy beam, and the other is the cantilever structure, which generally uses cast steel single-sided cantilever structure. The two beam structures have their advantages and disadvantages. Next, I will talk about the advantages and disadvantages of the gantry structure.
1. Fast
The gantry structure belongs to the double-side drive structure, and the left and right side motors are powered by high-speed transformation at the same time. The speed is faster and the stability is higher. When stopping, both sides stop at the same time, and the inertia is smaller than that of the single-side cantilever structure.
2. High accuracy
Gantry structure double-drive control accuracy, error value is less than 0.05u, automatic detection closed loop is formed with software control, and the accuracy can reach 0.01mm with screw rod or gear rack transmission device. In addition, the edge of laser cutting metal will be relatively smooth and free of burrs, which saves the second deburring step compared with flame or iso-ion cutting machine.
