When the optical fiber cutting machine processes stainless steel, there is a processing method in which the auxiliary gas is oxygen, nitrogen or air. Select the type of auxiliary gas according to the processing purpose. Of course, the oxidation degree of the cutting surface is different with different gases, which also has a certain impact on the cutting speed. Use oxygen when edge oxidation is not important; Nitrogen is used to obtain the edge without oxidation and burr, and no further treatment is required. Coating oil film on the surface of the plate will achieve better perforation effect without reducing the processing quality.
When the thickness of the plate is less than 3mm, it can achieve high speed because of the oxidation reaction effect. However, when the thickness of the plate is greater than 3 mm, the cutting speed can be improved by using nitrogen with good flow of molten metal for non oxidizing cutting.
The use of air is close to the processing characteristics of nitrogen, but the effect on cutting surface roughness and slag adhesion is not as good as that of nitrogen. The surface hardness of the oxidized cutting surface is about twice of the original, but the range is small.
This characteristic and in the oxidation free cutting with good surface roughness, the rough grinding of the cutting surface is not easy, while the machining surface using oxygen is not easy to grind.
