For plates up to 4mm thick, nitrogen can be used as the processing gas for high-pressure cutting. In this case, the cut edge will not be oxidized. For plates with a thickness of more than 10 mm, a good effect can be obtained by using a special electrode plate for the laser and coating the workpiece surface with oil during processing.
aluminium
Despite its high reflectivity and thermal conductivity, aluminum with a thickness of less than 6mm can be cut, depending on the type of alloy and laser capability. When cutting with oxygen, the cutting surface is rough and hard. When using nitrogen, the cutting surface shall be smooth. Pure aluminum is very difficult to cut because of its high purity. Only the system is equipped with“ Reflection absorption” The aluminum can only be cut when the device is installed. Otherwise, the reflection will destroy the optical components.
titanium
Titanium plates are cut with argon and nitrogen as processing gas. Other parameters can refer to nickel chromium steel.
Copper and Brass
Both materials have high reflectivity and excellent thermal conductivity. Brass with thickness less than 1mm can be cut with nitrogen; Copper with thickness less than 2mm can be cut, and the processing gas must be oxygen. Only“ is installed on the system; Reflection absorption” The copper and brass can only be cut when the device is installed. Otherwise, the reflection will destroy the optical components.
synthetic material
When cutting synthetic materials, keep in mind the dangers of cutting and the hazardous substances that may be discharged. Processable synthetic materials include thermoplastic, thermosetting materials and artificial rubber.
organic compound
There is a risk of ignition in all organic cutting (nitrogen is used as the processing gas, and compressed air can also be used as the processing gas). Wood, leather, cardboard and paper can be cut by laser, and the cut edges will be burnt (brown).
