This week, we’ll show you some tips and tricks on laser cutting very thick acrylic. In this video we’ll use our TroGlass Clear 20mm cast acrylic on the SP 500 200w laser cutter.
For those who want a flame-polished edge on clear acrylic they would need to make sure the following steps:
1) Minimal air flow
2) High resolution encoders
3) Longer Focal Length Lenses
4) Focusing to the middle of the material
5) Down draft table that creates a vacuum and draws down the flammable vapor created during the cutting process.
