With the continuous development of the laser industry, many customers do not have a good understanding of the laser. They only know the fur but do not know the meaning of the laser. There are many types of laser marking machines and their performance is completely different. Just these days, I have received a lot of inquiries from customers, including those who are marking and processing mobile phone shells, some who are marking and processing glass cosmetic bottles, and others who need to carve logos on egg shells and seafood shells. Every day, I have received many inquiries from customers of different products!
As a member of the laser equipment, I tell you that the laser marking machine is just a general term. The laser marking machine includes (ultraviolet laser marking machine, optical fiber laser marking machine,) and these two types of marking machines have their own functions and characteristics!
1. Ultraviolet laser marking machine
As the focus spot of ultraviolet laser is very small and the processing heat affected zone is very small, it can be used for ultra fine and accurate marking and special material marking. As shown in Figure 1, it is the preferred product for customers with higher requirements for marking effect. In addition to copper metal, UV laser is also suitable for processing many drug marking. The main advantages of UV are not only good beam quality, smaller focus spot, ultra fine marking, very small heat affected area, no thermal effect, no material burning problem, fast marking speed, high efficiency, stable overall performance, small size, low power consumption, etc.
2. Optical fiber laser marking machine
The optical fiber laser marking machine evaporates the surface material to expose the deep material through the laser beam. It “carves” the trace through the chemical and physical changes of the surface material caused by the light energy. It also burns some materials through the light energy to show the patterns, words, barcodes and other types of graphics that need to be etched. It is suitable for the processing of metal products, because the optical fiber laser marking machine burns off part of the material of the product through light energy, so it is a better choice for metal and stainless steel materials. If the product is more demanding and precise, the optical fiber laser marking machine will appear clumsy. Then we compare the ultraviolet marking machine with the optical fiber marking machine.
