When the laser cutting machine is used for processing, the laser beam is cast on the plate and forms a pit. With the jet of air flow, the material forms a hole, which is the puncture point of laser cutting. The puncture point of laser cutting is the starting point of laser cutting. The laser beam takes this hole as the starting point for contour cutting.
As the laser beam penetrates the steel plate and enters the contour cutting, its cutting speed has a big change in the vector direction – 90 ° rotation of the vector direction, from the tangent direction perpendicular to the cutting contour to the tangent line of the cutting contour – the included angle with the contour tangent is 0 °. In this way, a relatively rough cutting surface will be left on the cutting section of the material to be processed, so the selection of the puncture point is related to the smoothness of the end face after material processing.
How to select laser cutting points:
With the development of modern laser technology, the quality of laser cutting continues to improve. If the general laser cutting does not require the roughness of the cutting fracture, the control software can automatically select the puncture point. For the machined parts with higher roughness requirements, the puncture point needs to be adjusted manually during programming.
Generally speaking, the direction of laser beam travel is perpendicular to the tangent direction of the cutting contour of the part to be processed. During cutting, the operator should pay attention to the direction of the beam and cut continuously. It is not allowed to jump directly from one place to another. This may easily cause many small holes in the profile when cutting, affecting the overall quality of cutting.
